Madonna.
La Renaissance

For
too long, time had taken a break for music, making us wonder: has everything
been told already, has the music died?
And
then Madonna came back, as we know her, and, still, so different.
The
absolutely original sound of her latest album, Music, is likely
to have a massive influence upon the music of the future - because everybody
has to keep pace with Madonna, and not the other way round, as it is commonly
and mistakenly believed - but also upon the music videos, fashion, and
style. Obviously, Madonna is determined to innovate and also change her
rhythm. "The wolrd is dominated by dolls that sing. Nobody really cares
anymore, except from several (actually, quite a few) artists endowed with
consciousness and musical talent. Everything is homogenous and uniform",
she said upon release of her single "Music", composed and mixed
in cooperation with the ultimate (and excellent, too!) music sensation
Mirwais Ahmadzai from France (also the case with the songs Impressive
Instant, I Deserve It, Nobody’s Perfect, Paradise (Not for
Me), and Don’t Tell Me).
Besides
the now well-known single Music (try it loud too, in a populated
neighbourhood ;-), released on August 21st, you have to dance on Runaway
Lover (which is going to roll many carpets at parties) and Amazing
(which reminds of the very successful single Beautiful Stranger),
both produced in cooperation with the reputed William Orbit (also used
by Madonna for her previus album, “Ray of Light”).
Nobody’s
Perfect and Paradise (Not for Me) are my favourites, as they
are so incredibly sad - Madonna is over forty now, mother of two kids,
with a past that overwhelms her and that he has to ignore in order to continue
to be herself - and, still, full of hope.
The
album Music doen not privide music for all tastes. One has to be
young at heart, prejudice-free, eager to listen, accept, and eventually
love - the music, the style, the rhythm, which cannot be categorised in
a certain genre.
Madonna
dixit – “If my album is going to be successful, this means that the
world has been something else in terms of music.” She seems to be right…
